Meet Ari

Hello all!

I have been a hairstylist for 16 years! Most of my career has been as an Aveda Hair Colorist and Stylist. I have also found passion in stylist education and was an Aveda Color Purefessional. During that time, I always worked for a salon as either an hourly or a commission hairstylist. About 2 years ago I made a major change and decided to go into business for myself! I currently rent space from a beautiful salon called Shear Excellence. It’s located in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City, Utah. I have a peaceful room in the well-lit basement.

When I made that change, I also ended my teaching career with Aveda. I am now working with a line I love just as much (if not more!)! It’s called Davines (da-vin-ess). This line of hair products and hair color was thoughtfully created in Italy. Their hair color is made of 94% naturally derived ingredients. They do not test on animal nor do they use any animal byproducts in their ingredients. Davines uses sustainable and ethically sourced ingredients and became a B Corp in 2016. I love nature and the outdoors so it is very important to me as a hairstylist in this industry, that I am using products that have a low impact on nature and are sustainable in all things including energy and packaging. On top of that they also have created a line that is so customizable to all of my clients needs.

Something that I love even more than stylist education is client education. I believe that as a client you should go into every hair decision with all of the facts. All of them. And who better to teach and guide you than the person doing your hair!! The more you know about your hair the better decisions you can make for yourself, not just now or the day you get your hair done but decisions that will effect the future of your hair and goals you have. I will answer all of your questions behind the chair and also tune into my monthly blog and instagram posts for general education on all things hair!

I am in this industry because I truly love making people feel like the best versions of themselves through creative expression and design. I love getting to know my clients and I love to hear your stories! I love having a blank canvas and working with you, my client, to create something you feel great in!

Outside of the salon I have many hobbies (adhd life!). I love to workout and do so through running, yoga, and weightlifting. In the summer I enjoy hiking and being on the lake with my kayak. I am a full time student working towards my bachelors degree in Computer Science with an emphasis on software engineering. I have a cat named cat and a dog named lemon who are the loves of my life! I love to read and am trying to reach a goal of 4 books a month for this year.
